Fairmont Golf Banff Springs

Located in the mountain town of Banff, Alberta, this 18-hole course offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests.

Designed by legendary golf course architect Stanley Thompson, the Banff Springs Golf Course first opened in 1928. Since then, it has been consistently ranked as one of the top golf courses in Canada and has even been dubbed the “Canadian Alisa” due to its challenging terrain and stunning scenery.

The Banff Springs Golf Course is a real test of golf, tucked away in the stunning Canadian Rockies. One of the standout features of this course is the number of natural hazards that you’ll have to navigate. It’s set on the side of a mountain, so you’ll be playing uphill and downhill shots all day, as well as tackling deep gorges and fast-flowing creeks. Plus, the dense bush surrounds the course, so if you’re not accurate, your ball will disappear into the trees in no time. It’s definitely a course that’ll keep you on your toes and test your skills, but the scenery is bloody beautiful and it’s all worth it.

I recently played Banff Springs Golf Course for the first time and I have to say, it was a pretty mixed experience. The course is located in the Canadian Rockies and the views are absolutely stunning, but unfortunately, the fairways were pretty patchy and made it hard to play. The bunkers were in pretty rough shape too, and a lot of them weren’t well-maintained, very wet.

On the other hand… the customer service was on point. The staff were super friendly and accommodatingly helpful, I really appreciated that. They really went out of their way to ensure we had a good time; it was really great.

I had a good time playing Banff Springs Golf Course but I’d suggest looking elsewhere if you’re looking for a well-manicured course. But if you are looking for a great layout with great customer service, give it a try.

Despite its challenges, the Banff Springs Golf Course is a fair and enjoyable test of golf. The greens were well-manicured for the time of year and the fairways are wide and forgiving. In addition, the course offers five sets of tees, so golfers of all skill levels can find a comfortable level of difficulty.

In addition to its stunning scenery and challenging terrain, the Banff Springs Golf Course also offers a first-class clubhouse and practice facilities. The clubhouse features a restaurant, bar, and pro shop, as well as a putting green and driving range.
