What is changing

Spanish Bay sits on former sand-mine ground along 17-Mile Drive — a seaside links feel that opened November 5, 1987 (Robert Trent Jones Jr. with Tom Watson and Sandy Tatum). Hanse, Jim Wagner, and HGCD are leading a full renovation. Planned redesign figures from Pebble Beach / Hanse announcements (not “as played today”): championship tees about 7,115 yards, forward tees about 4,705, par moving from 72 toward 71, among other design updates. Cite those as the future course, not today’s card.

Pebble Beach Resorts’ Preview Availability for Spanish Bay is the official reopen door — phone-only. Call (800) 877-0597 to talk tee times; there is no online checkout on that page. During the renovation it still shows closed messaging, which is expected. Broader golf reservations also run through pebblebeach.com or 800-654-9300 per Pebble Beach press. Resort Reservations was already taking new-course bookings.

The Inn at Spanish Bay stays a lodging option — it is not a substitute tee-time booker.

Building a Peninsula week while you wait

Sleep once in the Pebble Beach / 17-Mile Drive corridor if the reopen week is the goal.
