Myrtle Beach Fall Golf: Courses, Stay-and-Play, and Mid-Season Windows

Fall on the Grand Strand is the Carolinas buddies week a lot of foursomes actually book — softer humidity than summer, Bermuda still in play through early fall, and stay-and-play packages you can assemble without a private-club hookup. Pawleys Island for a Strantz 36, North Myrtle for Tidewater, and a Barefoot or Legends villa week when the group wants lodging and rounds on one sheet.

Why fall works here

Late September into mid-November is the window for playable Grand Strand weather and buddy packages. October is the stretch many courses still call pure Bermuda; early November is when a lot of shops begin rye overseeding — confirm with the shop when you book so grow-in does not surprise the group.

Hurricane season awareness still shows up in September. Read the course rain and cancel policy when you sheet the round.

Book early if you want a popular mid-week October morning — fall is one of the two busiest seasons on this coast.

Courses you can book

Caledonia Golf & Fish Club (Pawleys Island). Mike Strantz’s first solo design, opened 1994. Day-play on the tee times page (or the Omnitech engine), or call 1-800-483-6800. Stay-and-play packages run through Caledonia Golf Vacations with a printed framing of at least three nights and three rounds when you want lodging and golf together. Golf-only packages on that path also want three rounds.

True Blue Golf Club (Pawleys Island). Also Strantz, a few minutes from Caledonia — the natural 36 if the group wants two different Strantz rounds without changing airports. Book tee times or call 1-888-483-6800. Fall-named packages (Golftoberfest, November to Remember) sit on the Caledonia Golf Vacations quote path — request the dates.

Tidewater Golf Club (North Myrtle Beach). Ken Tomlinson public day-play with a greenside bunker renovation already complete on the booking banner. Tee times or (843) 913-2424. Course-provided carts only. Seventy-two-hour cancel on the FAQ — build that into the plan.

Barefoot Resort & Golf. Four bookable 18s — Norman, Love, Fazio, and Dye — plus stay-and-play on property. Day tees: barefootresort.omnitech.golf/teetimes. Pro shop 843-390-3200. Official stay-and-play shape is three nights and four rounds (one on each course) in Golf Course, Yacht Club, or Dye Cottages villas, with fall and winter date bands on the packages page. King’s North at Myrtle Beach National. Arnold Palmer original with a 2024–2025 renovation led by Brandon Johnson; the back nine reopened October 2025 with new TifEagle greens maturing into 2026 play. Book King’s North on Tee Time Central or call (843) 448-2300. West and SouthCreek sit on the same Myrtle Beach National property if you want a second National 18. Packages: golf packages.

Legends Golf Resort. Heathland (Tom Doak), Moorland (P.B. Dye), and Parkland on site, with Heritage Club and Oyster Bay about a half hour out. Stay-and-play through legendsgolf.com/stay-play or the plan-your-trip form — 843-236-9318. Official package shapes include 4 Fore 3 (four nights / four rounds) and 5 Fore 4, with breakfast, a lunch entrée, drinks on the round, cart, unlimited range, and a pro-shop cut as printed. The Piper — a new lighted nine-hole par-3 — is slated for late fall 2026 and is not open yet; do not sheet it as a current round.

Skip Dunes Golf & Beach Club as a must-book public round — it is private with limited guest access, not open day-play.

Where to stay and how to lock golf

For a villa week with rounds on the same property, Barefoot and Legends are the two clean stay-and-play doors — open the official package page for your dates, then add any off-property 18 (Caledonia, True Blue, Tidewater, King’s North, Wild Wing) on that course’s own sheet.

If the group wants Pawleys as the golf and a separate room, use Caledonia Golf Vacations for Caledonia / True Blue packages, or book day-play and a refundable room nearby. Volume on quote forms can delay replies — phone if the calendar is tight.

Prefer property book links for tee times. Third-party package operators are secondary.

Getting there

Fly MYR (flymyrtlebeach.com). The rental car center is a short walk from the terminal. Barefoot’s flights page points to MYR only. Legends sits about ten miles from the main clubhouse on their own map.

A car still helps when the week mixes North Myrtle, central Strand, and Pawleys. Rideshare and hotel shuttles exist; four staff bags at 6:40 a.m. across the Strand is easier with a rental.

Lock the dates the foursome can travel, book the official tee sheets or stay-and-play package next, then a refundable room if you are not already in a villa package, then the MYR flight. Do not buy the airfare first.
